Jerry Smith To Be Honored as 2017 Bronco Legend at Pasta Feed

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer head coach Jerry Smith will be the 2017 Bronco Legend at this year's Pasta Feed. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 before the men's basketball game vs. San Diego. For more information and to sign-up, click here.

This family-friendly event includes a delicious buffet, beverages, face painting, and performances by the spirit squads, and features a ceremony honoring Smith. Bronco Legends are alumni (individuals or teams) who contributed significantly to Bronco Athletics during their time at SCU. Following dinner, the event moves to the Leavey Center for the basketball game.

Smith has been the head coach of the women's soccer team at Santa Clara for 30 years. Although he is most known for the development of his players and teams, Smith also produces success and is the winningest women's soccer coach in Santa Clara history, having compiled a record of 424-132-52 (.740) -- ranked top-5 in NCAA Division I history -- establishing a standard of excellence few can match. Since taking over the head coaching duties at Santa Clara in the spring of 1987, Smith has built the Bronco soccer program into a national power. Overall, the Broncos have been to the NCAA Tournament 26 times, the College Cup 10 times, and won the 2001 national championship. In 2016 the team advanced to the national semifinals.
