April SAAC Broncos of the Month Announced

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The SAAC Broncos of the Month for April were announced Monday. Eleni Spirakis of softball and Brennan Lagerstrom of men's cross country/track were the Broncos to take home the honors.

Spirakis was red hot all month, finishing April with a .360 batting average to go with a .385 on-base percentage and a .480 slugging percentage in 50 at-bats. The junior had five multi-hit games while scoring nine runs and driving in five to go with three doubles, a home run, and two stolen bases.

Lagerstrom set the program's 800-meter record with a field-best 1:53.17 on April 13 at the East Bay Invitational. The Tarzana, California native broke the nearly decade-old mark of 1:53.39, set by Robbie Reid at the 2010 Brutus Hamilton Invitational. Lagerstrom capped the month by lowering his own record to 1:52.55 at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge.
