SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara University was the host site for 2021 NCAA Women's College Cup, which was held at Stevens Stadium-Buck Shaw Field.

Two NCAA Tournament semifinals matches were held on Friday, Dec. 3. Behind a goal from Jaelin Howell, No. 1 seed Florida State knocked off Rutgers, another top-seeded team, 1-0, in the opening semifinal match.

The second semfinal was a matchup of West Coast Conference teams with Santa Clara and fourth-seeded BYU playing to a scoreless draw and the Cougars advancing in penalty kicks by a count of 3-2.

The national championship match between Florida State and BYU on Monday, Dec. 6, ended in a scoreless draw with the Seminoles taking home the crown by virtue of a winning 4-3 in penalty kicks.

This was the second time in the past three seasons the NCAA Women's College Cup was held in the Bay Area. The San Jose Earthquakes were the host in 2019 and this year's event was orginally scheduled for PayPai Park but the site was moved earlier this fall to the Santa Clara campus. The West Coast Conference and the San Jose Sports Authority are the host organizations.
