
PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif. - Two players each from both the Santa Clara men's and women's tennis teams participated in the first annual Taube Challenge Cup against members of the University of San Francisco tennis teams on Sunday at the Alpine Hills Tennis and Swimming Club.
The World Team Tennis format exhibition match featured men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles along with mixed doubles with San Francisco coming up on top 21-14 in the combined team score.
In singles action, Arthur Neuhaus lost 5-3 to Stevie Gould while Varya Zlotnik fell 5-0 to Simran Chhabra. Neuhaus paired up with Santiago Hinojosa to take down USF's doubles team of Gould and Moritz Hoffman, 5-1, while Zlotnik and JennaMarie Gordon was on the short end of a 5-3 score against Chiho Mushika and Chhabra. In mixed doubles, Gordon and Hinojosa was downed by Maria Martinez Vaquero and Hoffman, 5-3.
