Christian Allen was hired in December 2021 as the director of sports performance.
Allen works with men's soccer, women's basketball and oversees the men's and women's Rowing programs. Allen’s professional background runs the gamut from the college setting to pro sports to the private sector for strength and conditioning. He has performed stints as a strength and conditioning coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, University of South Florida and Villanova University as well as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Athletic Edge Sports Performance in Bradenton, Florida, where he trained college football players for the NFL Combine and Pro Days. Before coming to Santa Clara, Allen was the head strength and conditioning coach for Stockton University (NJ).
While coaching at Villanova, Allen was a part of the strength and conditioning staff for football which won the FCS National Championship in 2009. In total, Allen has coached 16 NFL draft picks including first round selections Eugene Monroe (Jaguars), Anthony Davis (49ers) as well as Trindon Holliday (Broncos) and Victor Cruz (Giants). His resume also includes experience as a head athletic performance coach plus time spent as an adjunct professor at Rowan University. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Rowan University and a master's degree in sports management studies from California University (PA).
