Sean Shahmirzadi is in his sixth year with the Santa Clara Broncos, serving as the primary medical contact for the women's soccer team. Sean is responsible for the scheduling and management of all on campus physician clinics. Prior to being hired in 2015, he spent two years at Santa Clara as a graduate assistant responsible for the medical care and injury prevention of the women's soccer, men's tennis, and men's rowing programs.

In addition to his duties with the Santa Clara Broncos women's soccer team, Shahmirzadi is a Network Professional Athletic Trainer for US Soccer Federation. In this role, he has worked international friendlies and tournaments with the U20 and U23 women’s national teams and is responsible for the delivery of USSF standards in injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation during US youth national team camps.

During the 2015 Major League Soccer season, Shahmirzadi served as an Intern Athletic Trainer for Real Salt Lake. He also functioned as the local AT for a week long training and two competition days at the USA Women's Gymnastics 2016 Olympic Team Trials in San Jose, California. He served as the assistant director of medical services for the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer College Cup Championships at Avaya Stadium as well as the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball West Regionals at the SAP center. Additionally, he has previously assisted the San Jose Earthquakes in a PRN role with coverage for their developmental academy.

A graduate of University of Utah, Shahmirzadi earned an undergraduate research scholar designation Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and a minor degree in Nutrition. He went on to San Jose State University where he earned a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Athletic Training.

Shahmirzadi serves as an Advisory Board member on the California Concussion Institute, a team of interdisciplinary providers, who serve to create a community that spreads concussion management best practices to the public and healthcare providers.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Shahmirzadi currently resides in Santa Clara. He is an avid mountain biker, snowboarder, soccer player and sparkling water connoisseur.
