Sherman Trigg is in his third year as an assistant strength
and conditioning coach at Santa Clara University. Currently
Trigg works with softball, women’s golf and women’s
tennis and has worked with women’s soccer in the past.
Prior to coming to Santa Clara, Trigg worked with the Menlo
College men’s and women’s soccer teams for four years.
In addition to working as the strength coach, Trigg was the
associate head coach with the women’s soccer team two of the
four years he worked there.
Trigg served as the varsity girls head soccer coach at Santa Clara
High School for 10 years. He holds numerous coaching licenses
including a United State Soccer 'C' License and a goalkeeper
license.
After receiving his Bachelors of Science in Physical Education
from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., Trigg earned another BS
from San Jose Christian College, now William Jessup University, in
Bible Theology.Trigg is certified by the National Strength Coaches
Association in Strength and Conditioning and also has his U.S.
National Coaching Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America.
Trigg worked with the City of Santa Clara Fire Dept. for 25 years.
He was the strength coach with the semi-pro men’s soccer team
in San Jose, the Frogs, for three years as well.
Trigg and his wife of 37 years, Karen, have four children who have
all competed athletically at the collegiate level.
