John Ursone is in his seventh year at Santa Clara University. His extensive experience in the athletic training field spans four NCAA Division I programs and a full season working with the Boston Red Sox's Class-A affiliate, the Greenville Drive.  He is the primary contact for baseball and women's golf.

Ursone came to SCU from Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a master's degree in Exercise Science in the spring of 2011 and was a graduate assistant athletic trainer working with the baseball team.

Prior to his graduate work in Murfreesboro, Ursone completed clinical rotations at Northeastern University, Harvard University, Eastern Nazarene College and the Buckingham Browne and Nichols School. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Northeastern in the spring of 2009.

During his undergraduate career at Northeastern, Ursone also interned with the Greenville Drive in 2008. Additionally, he assisted athletic trainers as an Athletic Training Co-op Student on two different occasions, first at Clemson University in 2007 and again at the University of Boston- Massachusetts in 2008.

Ursone obtained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification  through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in December of 2013. He maintains his American Red Cross CPR/AED Professional Rescuer certification and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association and the California Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Born and raised in South Windsor, Conn. John enjoys golfing, hiking, and reading his Sunday newspaper outside with a hot cup of coffee.
