Murphy Sets School Record in Steeplechase as Broncos Compete at Kim Duyst Invitational

TURLOCK, Calif. — Santa Clara track had its highest volume of runners compete in a 2015 spring meet when a total of 27 Broncos ran in seven different events at the Kim Duyst Invitational Saturday at Cal State Stanislaus. In her 3000 meter steeplechase debut, Grayson Murphy set a school record time of 11:03.93.

"I was really impressed with how a number of our athletes competed today," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "Graysee (Murphy) got the meet started right for us with an impressive 11:03.93 school record 3000m steeple debut. She will only improve more as her fitness and familiarity with the event improves."
