"Congratulations to our student-athletes on another terrific quarter.  With the grade point average above 3.0 for 11 of the last 12 quarters, it shows a high level of consistency in our student-athletes dedication in the classroom.  In addition, I credit our coaches for fostering an atmosphere of academic achievement, and our Academic Support team of Jeff Mitchell, Zoe Segnitz and Jason Stock for all of their efforts," said Santa Clara Athletic Director Dan Coonan.

"Finding the right balance between academics and athletics while still being very involved in campus life can be a challenge for anyone. The fact that the cross country/track student -athletes can achieve excellence both in the class-room and in competition is a testament to the team culture Tom Service worked so hard to create. However, most of the credit belongs to the incredible student athletes that choose to be a part of our program. Ben Demaree, Matt Savage, Kevin Oliver, Allie Sibole and Erin Hicks all earned perfect 4.0 GPA's last quarter and all played a major role in the team's success last season.  I am proud of their efforts and the team's emphasis on academic excellence," said Bronco head cross country and track coach Felipe Montoro.
