Getting ready for final exams, a few of the members of the SCU men's and women's cross country teams took a study break and had their pictures taken for the upcoming Fall 2013 team poster. EYEBRONCO reporter and women's soccer player, Sofia Huerta, took advantage of all these outstanding student-athletes being in one place and asked them a few questions about the past spring season and their plans for the summer, as well as what they are looking forward to as they embark on a new season.
For some, this will be their final season putting on the garnet Santa Clara jersey. The interviews are with women's team members Mary Kriege and Emily Robinson and men's team members All-WCC runner Ben Demaree and Bryan Crook.
The EYEBRONCO report includes a few words from the successful graduating senior, Kevin Oliver. Oliver was one of six people to receive Student Life Awards to recognize their contributions to improving the overall quality of life in the University community. Fresh off finishing 17th at the NCAA West Region Outdoor Track Championships in the 10,000m May 23, Bronco senior Oliver was also named to the Capital One CoSIDA All-District Academic All-American list. Oliver sports a 3.97 grade point average as a double major in Economics and Political Science. He was Santa Clara's Senior Academic Award Winner as well and he will be attending Law School at the University of Chicago next fall.
