Women’s Cross Country Produces Strong Individual Efforts at Montana Invite

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (MISSOULA, Mont.) — In the second of four straight weekends of competition, Santa Clara women's cross country traveled to Montana for the women's 5k at the Montana Invite Saturday. Freshman Grayson Murphy posted the fastest Bronco time of 18:47.17, good for 22nd place overall.

"We had some great individual performances, but collectively it was not our best race," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "Graysee Murphy ran very well today; her transition from soccer to distance running has been seamless."

"I feel good about this group and our potential," Montoro said. "We continue to improve day to day in practice and have a month before the conference championships to run to our full potential."
