Cross Country/Track Signs Two to National Letters of Intent

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara cross country & track has announced the signing of Northern California runners Bevin McCullough and Ross Corey to National Letters of Intent, head coach Felipe Montoro announced today. The pair will join the Broncos as freshman in 2015-16.

Bevin McCullough: Marin Academy — San Rafael, Calif.

Track Bests/Accolades

- 1600 meters: 5:02.94  

- 3200 meters: 11:13.79

Cross Country Bests/Accoldaes 

- Junior: Placed 15th at the 2013 California State Championships D5 (19:32)

- Senior: Placed 4th at the 2014 Stanford Invitational D5 race (18:55)

- Currently ranked 4th in the North Coast Section for D5

Coach Montoro on McCullough: "Bevin has all the tools to be an elite collegiate distance runner. She has range, she was well coached in high school, and has plenty of room for growth in her training. Most importantly, she has the focus and drive to reach her full potential at Santa Clara. Bevin will make an immediate impact on our team next fall and will fit right in with the culture of academic success we have fostered on the team, an important factor for us in the recruiting process."

Ross Corey: Woodside Priory School - Portola Valley, Calif.

- Senior: Placed third at the Central Coast Section championships, D5

- Senior: Placed 14th at the Stanford Invitational, D5

Coach Montoro on Corey: "I am very pleased to be adding Ross to our roster next year. He will be a great addition to our middle distance group and has the potential down the road to be a factor in cross country as well. He has great form, great speed and is a tough competitor. He has been well prepared for the next step in his training and has a bright future in the sport."
