SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara track announced its 2015 schedule Friday, which features 12 events in a three-month span from Feb. 13 to May 19.  The Broncos compete 10 times in California and twice outside the Golden State with meets in Seattle (indoor Husky Classic Feb. 13-14) to open the season and Portland (Portland Twilight May 17) to close out the spring.

"We like the balance with our schedule this spring, and the coaching staff is particularly excited about taking a few student-athletes to the Husky Classic for our first indoor meet, in addition to many of the competitive staple meets we have on our schedule each spring," assistant coach Pete Cushman said. "Mt. Sac, specifically, continues to be one of the big meets in the spring that we aim for."

The Broncos return a men's roster with a pair of school record holders in Joey Berriatua, who ran a 3:49.78 at the 1500 meter race of the 2014 West Coast Last Chance Open, and Adrian Hinojosa, who ran a 8:25.5 in the 3000 meter race. The women are led by Mary Kriege, who holds the school record in the 3000 meter (9:58.04) and 10000 meter (37:12.5) races.

NCAA postseason meets begin May 28-30 in Austin, Texas — two weeks after the Portland Twilight meet. The NCAA Finals will take place June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.

"There are a lot of great opportunities for the team to match up against some of the best competition in the nation," Cushman said. "With the great opportunities available, the goal is to always have representation at the final meets of the NCAA season."
