Cross Country Competes, Gains Valuable Experience at Roy Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Santa Clara cross country faced a tough field featuring multiple ranked teams, and came away with valuable experience at the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday at Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Bronco men finished 21st of 23 teams in their 8k race and the women finished 23rd of 26 teams in their 6k race.

Grayson Murphy posted the fastest time of Bronco women's runners for the third time in three meets this season, and Ryan Greenough led the men's team for the second straight year at Griak.

"Today was not our best performance," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "There were individual highlights for sure, but we are better teams than we showed today. One positive were the lessons many learned today about competing in such a competitive field in conditions we don't often experience."
