FULL SCHEDULE

***UPDATE 7/8/16: The Broncos will race at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. instead of the Paul Short Run.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara men's and women's cross country released their 2016 schedules Friday, announced by head coach Felipe Montoro. The teams are slated to run in California for eight of their nine events, including Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational.

"Felipe and I are excited about this upcoming fall, and feel like this schedule is balanced and very competitive," said Associate Head Coach Pete Cushman.

The Broncos begin the campaign with the same two events as last year: the USF Invitational Sept. 3 and SFSU Speedway Duals Sept. 15. Their third meet of the season is the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Penn. Santa Clara's trip marks the first time the team will compete in the Eastern time zone since 2011 (Notre Dame Invitational).

Three of the season's biggest four meets are in the back half of the schedule, beginning with the 11th Bronco Invitational at nearby Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. Oct. 15. The West Coast Conference Championship, in its fifth year at a rotating location, will be held in San Diego Oct. 28.

"The Paul Short Run, which provides a nationally-competitive and very deep field, and our Bronco Invitational will be excellent prep races for the championship season," Cushman said.

Santa Clara returns to the Bay Area for the NCAA West Regional Meet Nov. 11 at Sacramento State. The NCAA National Championship Meet is scheduled for Nov. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind. The Broncos are looking to qualify for the first NCAA meet in program history.
