WHY MISURACA CHOSE SANTA CLARA: “On my official visit I never felt out of place. Every student I encountered was open to answering questions. They didn’t just respond indifferently to my questions; they put effort into thoroughly explaining each answer. This speaks volumes about the character of the student body. They seemed to be very focused without being overwhelmed or discontented. Everywhere I went, people were genuinely kind and encouraging to one another. I really wanted to be in an environment that provided this.

While conducting my search for colleges, I was looking specifically for a college with a strong engineering program and running program. I found a website which had Santa Clara on a list of top engineering programs in the West. After doing some research, I had a feeling it could be the engineering school for me. It was. Everything about the program was appealing to me and intrigued me.

I was also really looking to run for a DI school. It was apparent that Coach Montoro was someone that I wanted to run for. Throughout the recruiting process, he was very helpful and took special interest. It was also very clear that he would be a coach that would care about everyone and their individual goals. He was just someone I could really see myself getting along with and someone who could coach me to my full potential. This was really hard for me to find in a coach.”
