Women’s Cross Heads to Seattle for Sundodger Invitational Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara women's cross country travels north to The Evergreen State for the Sundodger Invitational Saturday morning. The Broncos, coming off a fifth-place finish at the season-opening USF Invitational, will compete in their second event of the year at 11 a.m. in Seattle's Lincoln Park.

The 6-kilometer race will be contested on a course that features grass, dirt, light gravel and bark chips.

BRONCO LINEUP

Sophomore Marisa Sanchez topped the team with a 22nd-place finish (23:36) in the team's first meet of 2017 at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow Meadow. Freshman Ellie Kopf (23:40.6 – 23rd place), junior Bevin McCullough (23:44.3 – 25th place), junior Jamie Ferris (30th place) and freshman Sarah King (33rd place) rounded out the team's top five.

The scoring quintet will all compete for the Broncos on Saturday. The team's nine-runner lineup also includes senior Allison Martinez, sophomore Emma Eikelberner, freshman Emma McCurry and freshman Janie Nabholz.
