SEATTLE — Santa Clara track & field closed out a stretch of three indoor meets in three weeks by rewriting its record book once again. Jack Davidson posted a 5,000-meter school record time of 14:17.32 and Joey Berriatua notched a 14:21.64 — the second-fastest time in program history — at Dempsey Indoor as part of the Husky Classic.
Davidson bested his own school record of 14:23.35 at the 2017 Mt. SAC Relays and took fourth place in the section on Friday night. He logged a 3,000-meter program record 8:18.24 two weeks ago at Dempsey Indoor during the UW Invitational.
Berriatua crossed the finish line in fifth place and dropped his prior personal best mark of 14:27.59 by nearly six seconds.

"I'm really happy for Jack and Joey. They have gotten very good at focusing on themselves and running their best race every time out. I'm excited to see what they can do outdoors later this year."
