SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Joey Berriatua and Zach Litoff will take a short trip up to Stanford for the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Thursday night. The Bronco runners are looking to post one of the top 48 times in the NCAA West Region to earn automatic qualification to the postseason.
The first of two steeple sections get underway at 7:46 p.m.
"Payton Jordan is as competitive of a meet as we can run during the regular season," associate head coach Pete Cushman said. "Joey and Zach have earned the right to be in the mix with a great field. The goal is to run qualifying times for NCAAs; this is the ideal venue and field to chase that."
