SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara cross country will race at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow Meadow for the second time in three weeks on Friday afternoon. The Broncos are set to compete in the San Francisco State Invitational. The men's 8-kilometer race begins at 3:30 p.m., while the women's 6-kilometer race starts at 4:15 p.m.

Santa Clara hit a milestone mark early in the 2018 season on Monday. The Broncos are ranked 11th in the NCAA West Region by USTFCCCA, one spot higher than their previous best mark of 12 in 2017. SCU was unraked in the season's first two polls.

Santa Clara cross country gained valuable experience racing at altitude and produced good results on Saturday at the BYU Autumn Classic. The women's team took third place of six groups in the 5-kilometer race and the men's team took fourth place of six groups in the 7-kilometer race at Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course in Logan, Utah. Emma McCurry led the women for the second time in as many races and Jack Davidson led the men in his season debut.
