SAN FRANCISCO — Santa Clara cross country fielded a small team of seven total runners for Friday's San Francisco State Invitational and produced quality individual performances at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow Meadow. Wilder Boyden ran the men's 8-kilometer in 26:47.6 to take 23rd place and Marisa Sanchez ran the women's 6-kilometer race in 23:59.1 to finish in 32nd place.

Austin Blankenship (25th – 26:49.8), Aditya Mohan (39th – 27:23.8) and Luke Davies (48th – 27:51.0) also competed for the men. Julia Green (37th – personal best 24:09.4) and Cecilia Avelar (42nd – 24:15.5) raced for the women.

"I thought those that competed did well today," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "It was particularly nice to see Austin and Maris perform well. Both are program veterans who have dealt with injuries over the years. They are finally putting together some solid training, and that showed today."
