Litoff Earns Track & Field All-America Honor

NEW ORLEANS — Santa Clara track & field trailblazer Zach Litoff rounded out the 2021 season with another program first to start the week. The junior was named Honorable Mention All-America, announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Litoff is the first All-American in program history.

The Boulder, Colorado native posted an 8:44.66 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase national semifinal to finish in 20th place overall at Hayward Field on June 9. He was the first Santa Clara runner to qualify for the NCAA championship meet and is the fastest Bronco steepler in program history.

"I'm really happy for Zach to be recognized for his efforts on the track," head coach Felipe Montoro said. "He deserves it and he would be the first to credit his teammates for their role in his success."
