SEATTLE, Wash. - After scoring 23 runs in the first two contests of their weekend series against the University of Washington, the Santa Clara Broncos were unable to avert a three-game sweep at the hands of the Huskies Sunday afternoon, suffering a 9-0 shutout loss in the finale at Husky Ballpark.

UW starter Tim Lincecum and reliever Nick Hagadone combined on Washington's (15-5) first no-hitter in 48 years although the Broncos (10-10) managed to threaten a couple of times while drawing seven walks in the ballgame.

Santa Clara will look to bounce back with four home dates this week, beginning with Wednesday's 6 p.m. contest against the UC Davis Aggies and continuing with a three-game weekend series with the Northwestern Wildcats. The weekend series against the Wildcats will begin with a 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon contest and conclude with a Sunday doubleheader with first pitch for the opener set for 1 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (408) 554-4660 or by visiting the Leavey Center ticket office.

Brady Fuerst drew a pair of walks for the Broncos Sunday, who managed to get at least one runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings and again in the fifth. But Lincecum, who improved to 4-1 on the season and struck out 11 batters Sunday, managed to escape each jam.

Washington opened the game up in the second as a three-run Matt Stevens home run off of Broncos starter Matt Wickswat, who suffered his first loss of the year to bring his record to 3-1, highlighted a five-run frame.
