SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University baseball team has added a new game to its schedule, it was announced this morning. The Broncos will take on the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters Wednesday evening in a 6 p.m. contest at Stephen Schott Stadium.

Tickets are available for tomorrow's contest by calling (408) 554-4660 or by visiting the Leavey Center ticket office.

Santa Clara (15-11) is coming off of its second-straight series sweep and has now won five in a row after taking two games from the Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans in Hawaii. Second baseman Eric Newton went 4-for-8 in the series with a pair of homers and eight RBIs while catcher Kris Watts also went deep twice and hit .667 in the series with four RBIs. Dustin Realini batted .714 over the two games, driving in five runs and scoring five while coming only a home run short of hitting for the cycle in Sunday's 14-4 victory.

Sean O'Neill went seven strong innings Sunday to even his record at 2-2 on the year while Daniel DeMarco earned his fifth win of the season in relief Saturday. DeMarco shut the Vulcans down over the final three and a third innings of a rain-shortened 10-4 six-inning victory.

Cal State Monterey Bay (9-20) comes to Schott Stadium off of a series which saw them drop two of three at Cal Poly-Pomona over the weekend. The Otters are led by the bats of Matt Ralls (.400, four doubles, triple) and Budd Glock (.355, four doubles, three HRs, 16 RBIs), who also stars on the hill, posting a 2-1 record in three starts. Norman Herbert (2-1, 10 appearances) is also one of the top hurlers on the Otter staff.

Wednesday's game will be Santa Clara's final tuneup before beginning West Coast Conference play Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host the San Francisco Dons.
