Rubber Game Postponed In Spokane

April 9, 2006

SPOKANE, Wash. - Following rain showers over most of the week and another heavy down pour on Saturday night, Sunday's baseball game between Santa Clara University and Gonzaga University was postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The two teams will attempt to finish their three-game West Coast Conference series on Monday at Noon at Avista Stadium.

As a result of this change, Santa Clara's contest against the Stanford Cardinal Monday evening at Stephen Schott Stadium, originally scheduled for 6 p.m., has been postponed.

Should conditions not be playable tomorrow afternoon at Avista Stadium in Spokane, the game will be moved to Spokane Falls Community College. A decision on which site will be used will be posted on www.santaclarabroncos.com on Monday morning once a final decision is made.

The Broncos and Bulldogs split the first two games of the series with Gonzaga winning 5-1 on Friday night before Santa Clara rallied for five runs in the ninth to win Saturday's game 7-6.
