Baseball To Play No. 30 SJSU In Weekend Series

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara Broncos (4-4) will play a three-game series with No. 30 San Jose State (7-1) this weekend. Only Saturday's contest will be a home game for the Broncos at Schott Stadium. Friday and Sunday's games will be held at San Jose's Municipal Stadium at the corner of Senter Rd. and Alma.

Santa Clara is coming off a loss at Stanford on Tuesday and a four-game sweep of Albany while the Spartans are riding high after finishing a three-game sweep of Saint Mary's on Tuesday and winning two-of-three at No. 2 UCLA last weekend.  SCU leads the all-time series vs. SJSU 120-82-0 dating back to 1936 and swept the Spartans 3-0 in 2010.  Freshman catcher and leadoff man Zach Looney leads the Bronco offnese, hitting .458 with a team third-best 11 hits and 4 RBIs.  Sophomore Matt Ozanne has also been solid, hitting .433 with eight hits and a team-leading 13 hits and six SB and six RBIs.
