FRESHMAN (2009): Made 14 appearances and four midweek starts ... went 0-2 as a starter, fanning 13 and walking four in 14 1/3 innings ... two of those starts came against Stanford and a third against then-No. 18 Cal Poly ... struck out a season-high five in his first collegiate start, going four innings vs. Stanford (Apr. 15) ... used 10 times out of the bullpen, registering a strikeout in all but one relief appearance ... finished the year with 22 Ks in 25 2/3 innings.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Seattle Prep in Seattle, Wash. ... played for Coach Ed Paulter ... captained his baseball and football teams in 2008 ... named an All-Metro League First Team outfielder and pitcher as both a junior and senior ... team-leader in wins and strikeouts as a senior, helping Seattle Prep to a top 10 state ranking ...
