Santa Clara to host Cal's NCAA Baseball Super Regional This Weekend at Schott Stadium

BERKELEY, Calif. - After its dramatic 9-8 victory over Baylor June 3 to secure its regional crown, California will host Dallas Baptist in a best 2-out-of-3 NCAA Super Regional for the right to advance to the College World Series. The games will be played at Santa Clara's Stephen Schott Baseball Stadium, starting at 5 p.m. Sat., June 11. It is the Santa Clara NCAA Super Regional nationally with the winner getting receiving a berth to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

Cal's Evans Diamond, home to the Golden Bears since 1933, does not have lights, which would have been required to accommodate the television schedule. The first two games of the weekend in Santa Clara will be televised by ESPNU, while the third contest will air on either ESPNU or ESPN2.

"We are excited to be playing in front of our Golden Bear fans," head coach David Esquer said. "I would like to thank Santa Clara and Athletic Director Dan Coonan for giving us the opportunity to host Cal's first-ever Super Regional in the Bay Area. It will be great to have the support of our friends and families."

Cal and DBU will meet in Game 2 at 7 p.m. Sunday, and a third game, if necessary, will begin at either 1 or 4 p.m. Monday.

All tickets for the NCAA Super Regional are general admission and are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors, youth and college students (with college ID). They are available for purchase through the Cal Athletic Ticket Office either by calling (800) GO BEARS or in person at 2223 Fulton St. in Berkely, Calif. The ticket office will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for advanced sales, while tickets on gamedays will be sold on a cash basis at Schott Stadium only, beginning 1.5 hours before the first pitch. Tickets cannot be bought online, and there are no refunds or exchanges.
