SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Former Santa Clara C/DH Patrick Terry has signed a professional contract with the Chico Outlaws of the North American League.

The NAL is an independent professional league with teams in California, Hawaii, Texas, Arizona and Canada. The league has produced several Major League players including Sergio Romo of the San Francisco Giants and Santa Clara's own Daniel Nava of the Boston Red Sox.

Terry, a 2011 All-WCC Honorable Mention selectee, led the Broncos in average (.312), hits (58), slugging percentage (.414), doubles (10), RBI (30), total bases (77) and tied for the lead in homeruns.

A former walk-on, Terry joined the Santa Clara squad his sophomore year. He appeared in the Bronco lineup 104 times over the next four seasons. The redshirt senior captain was a career .315-hitter over four seasons.

The former Bronco has already played three games for the Outlaws. He will play both left field and catcher for Chico. In his first professional start, Terry played in left field. He was 3-3 at the plate including a double and a RBI. He also stole a base and robbed an opposing batter of a homerun.

Terry recently graduated from Santa Clara with a degree in Combined Sciences.
