Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball: Mitchell White

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing to introduce the next wave of talent, Santa Clara baseball introduces Mitchell White of San Jose, Calif. White attended Bellarmine College Prep where he was coached by Mike Rodriguez, Brian Vieira, Ted Turhington and Brody Gregg.

"I chose Santa Clara because it's the perfect overall package," said White. "It is a great academic school with a beautiful campus and awesome facilities, not to mention a great baseball program. As a local I've seen the team play quite a bit and every time I am out there they are working hard and having fun. A lot of credit for that great atmosphere has to go to the coaches who work hard to ensure that everybody is doing things the right way. They mold the team to not only be better baseball players, but also better human beings. I can't wait to get out on the field and start playing."

On the field White posted an impressive 1.05 ERA as a junior and helped lead his team to the second round of the CCS playoffs after posting a 15-15 record during the regular season.

Off the field White worked at the Sacred Heart Community Center, Martha's Kitchen, Second Harvest Food Bank, Via West Community Services and Loaves and Fishes Community Center.

White's parents are John and Hailey and his brother Spencer plays lacrosse at UC San Diego.

His hobbies include golf, football, basketball and fishing.
