Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball: Garrett Doane

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Continuing to introduce the next wave of talent, Santa Clara baseball introduces Garrett Doane. Doane attended Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz. and was coached by Coach Schilling and Coach Maxwell.

"Santa Clara was an easy choice for me because the coaches seem very dedicated and motivated with their new recruits," said Doane. "From my first interaction with Coach Ribas, I could tell it was a top-notch athletic program that I can't wait to play for. I am also very excited to be a part of this school because of the exciting but challenging academics, amazing campus and of course the California weather. Having played baseball year round in Arizona, the great weather will be just another bonus for me."

Doane is hitting .292/.395/.683 as a senior. As a junior Doane hit .225/.279/225 in a partial season on the varsity roster. As a sophomore on the JV squad Doane hit .373/.466/.661 and was added to the varsity roster for two games. As a freshman on the JV team Doane hit .333/.434/.400.

As a senior Doane lettered in football and baseball. His junior year he lettered in basketball and baseball.

Outside of high school Doane hit .302/.474/.488 in Fall Ball in 2012 and .400/.590/.600 on Prospect Wire in 2012.

Off the field Doane has been a Special Ed Basketball League volunteer, a St. Mary's Food Bank volunteer and an Incoming Freshman Baseball Camp volunteer.

In his free time Doane enjoys hitting in the cage, playing golf, playing basketball, fishing, playing video games and hanging out with friends.
