Get Ready to Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - November 15 marks the third of eight days in the early period for college baseball's National Letter of Intent signees, a very important time in constructing the future of Santa Clara baseball. To add on to a strong group of current freshmen and sophomores that coaches say have shown excellent leadership ability, Bronco baseball is set to announce its recruiting class of players due to join the program for the 2014-15 season.

This is the third recruiting class under head coach Dan O'Brien.

Beginning Monday, the Broncos will feature one player per week to highlight the incoming freshman class. The first of those players is 6-foot-5, left-handed pitcher Alex Barden from San Ramon Valley High School in nearby Danville, Calif.

"This class has exceptional athleticism and balance," associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Gabe Ribas said. "It features players who can do a little bit of everything and addresses our needs as a team. The personalities of these players fit the program's concept of toughness."
