Three Baseball Players Receive WCC All-Academic Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — One day after picking up five All-West Coast Conference honors, three Santa Clara baseball players have been recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom. Steven Wilson, Tyler Meditz and Peter Hendron each received a WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention, announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Wilson, an economics major with a 3.41 GPA, takes home the academic honor for the second year in a row. He pitched in Santa Clara's weekend rotation all season and finished the year with a 5-5 record alongside a 3.91 ERA in 14 starts. 

Meditz, a finance major with a 3.43 GPA, received an All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention nod in Tuesday's awards. He led the Broncos in slugging percentage at .468 on the season and .543 during conference play. In WCC play, Meditz hit a team-high five home runs and tied for the Bronco lead with 21 RBIs along with TC Florentine.

Hendron, an individual studies major (Music/Spanish/Economics) with a 3.21 ERA, made 16 appearances and one start for the Broncos in his senior year. He held opposing teams to no earned runs eight times in 11 appearances from March 6-May 6.
