Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Cameron Allie
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the first member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Cameron Allie.  The outfielder currently attends Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, California, where he was named team captain for the 2018 season.

"I chose Santa Clara because the school really spoke to me. As I walked around, I fell in love with the beauty of the campus along with the great education it provided. Being a Christian, attending a Jesuit school like this seems ideal. On top of that, the coaching staff made me feel welcomed and I really connected with them," said Allie.

In 64 varsity games, Allie hit .282 with a .380 on-base percentage while utilizing his 4.53-second 40-yard laser timed dash to patrol central field for the Trojans.  Allie helped guide his team to finish first in the Sierra Foothill League and third in the San Joaquin Section Championships last year.

"We really like Cameron's athleticism," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.  "He and I immediately hit it off and connected, he's a real competitive young man. He's a center fielder that can run, throw and hit at the top of the order but I would not be surprised if he's batting in the middle of the lineup when it's all said and done.  He plays with an edge and an attitude and we need some of that.  He's a big piece to the class."

The 6-0, 182 pounder who bats and throws right was part of the 2017 Oakland Athletics Area Code team and was named to the Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason Underclassmen All-American High Honorable Mention in March.

Our next future Bronco, Jordan Baldwin, will be announced the week of November 27.
