Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Matt Erickson
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the seventh member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Matt Erickson.  The catcher from Hawaii currently attends Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu.

"I chose Santa Clara because of the great coaching staff, its beautiful campus and I feel it's the perfect fit for me as a student-athlete," said Erickson.

The six-foot-two Erickson is the lone catcher in the 2018 recruiting class for the Broncos and was the first commitment for the new Santa Clara head coach Rusty Filter.

"Matt was our first commit that got the ball rolling for us.  He's a very good defensive player who can really catch and throw.  Matt is a physical young player that is coming into his own.  He had a lot of opportunities to go to other schools but he chose Santa Clara.  We are really looking forward to him arriving on campus," said Filter.

Our next future Bronco, Blake Faddoul, will be announced later in the week.
