Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Gavin Maloney
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the 19th member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Gavin Maloney.  The outfielder currently attends the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico.

"I chose Santa Clara because it's a Catholic school with a great engineering program.  And the rebuilding process of the baseball program is something I wanted to be part of," said Maloney.

During his junior season at the New Mexico Military Institute, Maloney batted .468 with 22 extra base hits including five homeruns, 11 doubles and six triples.  The six-foot-three left-handed batter and thrower captained both the baseball and football teams last season and will once again captain the baseball team in the spring.

"Gavin is a very focused individual coming from the New Mexico Military Institute.  He's a left-handed hitter that can play first base and the corner outfield positions.  He's a very strong offensive player that should really be able to help us moving forward," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

Our next future Bronco, JD Worcester, will be announced on January 23.
