Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – JD Worcester
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the 20th member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, JD Worcester.  The left-handed pitcher currently attends Juanita High School in Kirkland, Washington.

"I chose Santa Clara because it was the best fit for me. The coaching staff and education is second to none, and the campus is in a beautiful setting close to both the beach and San Francisco. I can feel something big is about to happen at Santa Clara and it's exciting," said Worcester.

The 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game preseason underclassmen All-American high honorable mention has struck out 92 batters in 72 innings while allowing just 45 hits in his two varsity seasons.  The six-foot-three southpaw captained both the baseball and football squads last season and will captain the baseball team again in the spring.

"JD is a left-handed pitcher from the Seattle area.  He was also a wide receiver on the football team.  He's a very competitive player and brings quality traits to the locker room.  I see him pitching in different roles for us, whether it's a starter or a reliever.  I'm really looking forward to his development and excited to have him on board with us," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.
