Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Coleman Brigman
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the first member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2019-20 season, Coleman Brigman. The brother of current Bronco freshman infielder Dawson Brigman, the younger Brigman will captain the Valley Christian High (San Jose, Calif.) squad for the third time this season while patrolling center field.

"I chose Santa Clara because I felt like it was the perfect place for me.  When I went on my visit, the coaching staff's love for the game and the inviting atmosphere really impressed me.  The campus is in a great area and the best part is it's only twenty minutes away from my house.  Also, the amazing education that SCU offers gives me many opportunities beyond baseball.  I am very grateful for the chance to attend Santa Clara," said Brigman.

Brigman played on the 15U USA baseball national team that won the bronze medal in the World Championships in 2016.   He was also selected for the 2018 Oakland A's Area Code Team and selected for the underclassmen roster for the 2017 team.

"In Coleman, we signed what we feel is the best player in the area by far.  We got one of the top players in the country to come in and play center field.  He is a complete and dynamic player – he plays great defense, he can hit at the top or the middle of the lineup and has great speed.  He's had a lot of success in high school and has been involved with USA Baseball.  Coleman also comes from a great family as I've known them for a long time," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

The 6-foot-1 Brigman, who bats right and throws left, hit .342 with a .435 on-base percentage over his three-year varsity career spanning 96 games.  Thirty-one of his 105 hits have gone for extra bases.

Brigman comes from an impressive baseball lineage with his father, Vince, having played at Pacific while older brother Bryson currently plays double-A ball in the Miami Marlins organization.  Another older brother, Keenan, is a utility player for UC San Diego.

Our next future Bronco, Jared Feikes, will be announced the week of November 26.
