Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Cole Kitchen
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the third member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2019-20 season, Cole Kitchen.  The two-way player currently attends El Camino Real Charter High in Woodland Hills, Calif.

"I chose Santa Clara because I believe that I will be in good hands with the coaching staff.  They will give me the guidance to develop and unlock my greatest potential as a baseball player.  In addition, I loved the campus and I feel that the smaller environment can only be a benefit by allowing me to have a more personal learning experience," said Kitchen.

Kitchen who plays for one of the premier college development program with the Garciaparra Baseball Group in the summer and fall, hit .337/.472/.551 in 98 at-bats for El Camino Real Charter High last season.  On the mound, the right-hander struck out 13 batters in 12.2 innings and did not issue a walk.  In the classroom, Kitchen is a commended student for the National Merit Scholarship program.

"Cole is very interesting because he can do a little bit of everything.  He is a two-way player – a pitcher and an outfielder.  He is very good at both but right now we are not sure what he is best at.  He plays center field and is a left-handed hitter but he's really come on the past summer as a pitcher as his velocity picked up.  So I think he has a chance to make an impact for us in both positions," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

Our next future Bronco, Eamonn Lance, will be announced the week of Dec. 10.
