Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Jeffrey Heinrich
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the sixth member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2019-20 season, Jeffrey Heinrich.  The brother of current Bronco junior pitcher Ethan Heinrich, the younger Heinrich will co-captain the Heritage High (Brentwood, Calif.) squad as a right-handed pitcher and outfielder.

"I chose Santa Clara to receive instruction from one of the best coaching staffs in the country.  Coach Filter can really take my game to the next level on the mound. Academically, I will be getting a top-notch education at a premier university.  A degree from Santa Clara will really jump start my career outside of baseball," said Heinrich.  "The chance to play with my brother, Ethan, who has taught me so much about pitching is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Santa Clara is close enough for my parents to come watch my brother and I compete.  Santa Clara really felt like home and I can't wait to spend my college career there."

The 6-foot-3 Heinrich was one of 80 players selected nationwide to participate in the USA Baseball U17 National Team Identification Series last summer.  Heinrich also played in the outfield, hitting .286 in 70 at-bats at Heritage High.

"We're really fortunate to have Jeffrey joining our program. He's a great two-way player and really coming into his own as a pitcher.  He has a tremendous upside and we are really excited to see him grow as a Bronco," said Santa Clara head coach Rusty Filter.
