Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Cade Pilchard
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the ninth member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2019-20 season, Cade Pilchard.  The right-handed pitcher hails from Jesuit High School in Carmichael, California, where he co-captained the Marauders squad and led them to a first place finish in the Delta League this spring.

"I chose Santa Clara University for the quality education I will receive and for the ability to work with, and develop under, head coach Filter and his coaching staff," said Pilchard who maintained a grade point average of above 3.5 throughout high school.

The 2019 first-team All-League and Sacramento Bee All-Metro selection played on the 2018 Oakland Athletics Area Code Team and played club ball for the NorCal 2019 National Team.

The two-time letterwinner compiled a 11-2 record during his junior and senior campaigns striking out 84 batters over 67 2/3 innings including throwing a no-hitter in 2018.

"Cade has the ability to be an impact player right away as a freshman.  Coming out of a powerhouse school, Jesuit, and building on his 6-foot-4 frame, he has the ability to compete at the front of the rotation.  We are excited to see Cade develop in the fall and compete with us in the spring," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.
