SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball avenged an early season loss with an impressive 9-1 victory over Cal Poly on Tuesday night.
Early offense and a tremendous effort from Alex Reelfs proved more than enough for the Broncos (22-17) who took the lead for good four batters into the game.
In a scheduled bullpen game, Reelfs (4-5) came in after a scoreless inning from starter Nick Sando and ended up tossing 7-plus innings while getting the win. He shutout the Mustangs (24-16) for 6 innings before his defense let him down in the eighth. In all, Reelfs allowed an unearned run on six hits with six strikeouts.
