Chris Perry joined the Santa Clara baseball program in October, 2021 as an assistant coach, and is in his second season. He came from Ohlone College in Fremont, California where he was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Perry also currently serves as a physical educator at Leigh High School in San Jose.    

In his eight seasons at Ohlone, Perry helped develop over 30 Academic All-Americans and assisted over 40 players find and earn scholarships to play at a four-year college.  Three of his pitchers earned Coast Division Pitcher of the Year honors in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Prior to his time at Ohlone, Perry was the head varsity baseball coach at Leigh High from 2007 to 2013, leading them to the 2011 Blossom Valley Athletic League - Santa Teresa Division Championship. He helped move 25 players to the collegiate level.  

An experienced educator, Perry was the Athletic Director at Leigh High from 2008 to 2012.  

Perry received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology, physical education from Fresno State in 2006 before earning his master's degree in recreation and sport sciences, coaching education at Ohio University in 2012.
