SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Santa Clara men's basketball team takes its 3-1 West Coast Conference record and 11-8 overall mark Northward this week to take on Gonzaga and Portland on Thursday and Saturday.

Santa Clara will face the Zags on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Martin Center (capacity 4,000) on the Gonzaga University campus. Gonzaga is 12-5 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in WCC games.

On Saturday the Broncos will travel to Portland to face the Pilots in an 8 p.m. contest that will be televised regionally by Fox Sports Net. Portland is 9-8 on the season and 2-2 in the WCC. The game will be played in the 5,000-seat Chiles Center on the Portland campus.

The Fox Sports Net broadcast will be aired at different times in the various regions. To find out the air time and date in your area, click here.

The Broncos swept their Bay Area rivals last week in the new Leavey Center. On Thursday senior Jamie Holmes scored a career-high 24 points, while David Emslie registered his first career double as the Broncos rolled to a 90-67 win over Saint Mary's. Brian Jones knocked-down 22 points and freshman Kyle Bailey added a career-high-tying 17 in Saturday's 89-82 win over San Francisco.

Jones, a two-time all-WCC guard, continues to move up the Santa Clara career charts in almost every statistical category. He needs just 35 assists to become the first player in Santa Clara history to record 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a career.

Santa Clara has been scoring at a clip of 86 points per game in its four conference contests this season, compared to its 68.9 average overall. The Broncos are also becoming less reliant on the scoring of Jones to have offensive success. At least nine different Santa Clara players have scored in each of the last five games, while a total of 11 Broncos scored in the win at Loyola Marymount.

Following the Gonzaga/Portland trip, the Broncos return to California for back-to-back games against San Diego. Santa Clara travels to Southern California for a Wednesday contest in the new Jenny Craig Pavilion then returns home for a Saturday game against the Toreros.

Tickets are on sale now at the Santa Clara Athletic Ticket Office for the annual West Coast Conference Tournament. The event is scheduled for March 3-5 in San Diego. Tickets to the WCC Tournament as well as all SCU sporting events are also available online by clicking here.
