SAN DIEGO (AP) - Justin Holbrook hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, giving Santa Clara a 67-65 victory Wednesday night over San Diego in a West Coast Conference game.

Holbrook got the inbound pass with 1.4 seconds left, took one dribble and leaned in as he made the 22-foot, game-winning shot beyond the top of the key.

Santa Clara (13-9, 5-2) led nearly the entire game before falling behind 57-56 on a pair of free throws by Andre Laws with 4:16 left.

San Diego (11-9, 3-4) took a 65-64 lead on Dana White's off-balance, five-foot shot in the lane with seven seconds remaining. White, a 6-foot guard, drove the lane and threw up his shot with three players surrounding him.

Brian Jones led the Broncos with 17 points. Steve Ross, who played one season at San Diego before transferring, added 16 points and Holbrook scored 11.

Cameron Rigby scored 15 points and Kevin Hanson had a career-high 11 for the Toreros, who stayed in the game by hitting 23-of-31 free throws.
