SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Santa Clara University men's basketball team returns to the new Leavey Center this weekend with a chance to increase its chances for a top seeding at the West Coast Conference Tournament with games against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine.

The Broncos (13-10, 5-3 in the WCC) will face the Lions of LMU (7-14, 3-5 in the WCC) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the Pepperdine Waves (15-6, 7-1 in the WCC) Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday's contest will be televised live by Fox Sports Net. Santa Clara enters the game having won seven of its last 10 games and five of its last seven after dropping its WCC opener at Pepperdine by a score of 87-66. The Broncos have the highest strength of schedule rating in the league and the third-highest RPI.

Gonzaga leads the WCC standings with a perfect 8-0 record and a 16-5 mark overall. Pepperdine is in second with a 7-1 record, while the Broncos reside in third at 5-3. Santa Clara has all six of its remaining regular-season games in the Bay Area with four of the six taking place at the Leavey Center, including key season-ending contests against Gonzaga and Portland.

Thursday's contest will feature "Bay Area Fitness Night." All fans in attendance who show a membership card from a Bay Area fitness center will receive a half-price general admission ticket.

On Saturday, the department of athletics will honor all parents of freshmen students at Santa Clara with "Freshman Parent Day." In addition, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive free pom-poms.
