Santa Clara vs. Gonzaga

  • With his sixth assist, Santa Clara senior Brian Jones became the first player in West Coast Conference history and the first ever at a Division I school in the state of California to surpass the 1,500 point, 500 rebounds and 500 assists mark for a career. The senior from Carson, Calif. now has 1,649 points (5th on SCU list), 550 rebounds and 500 assists (2nd). He needs just 11 assists to surpass the school record of 510 set by Steve Nash from 1992-96.

  • Gonzaga had the nation's longest win streak at 14-straight prior to the loss.

  • After scoring 84 points against Gonzaga, Santa Clara improved to 13-1 when scoring 70 points or more this season.

  • Gonzaga's Dan Dickau set a WCC record for most three-point field goals in a conference game with nine. That total is also the most-ever for an opposing player against Santa Clara and set a Gonzaga school record. Dickau's 39 total points was the fifth-highest total for an opposing player against Santa Clara all-time.

  • Gonzaga's 14 three-point field goals was the second-most ever made against Santa Clara. The record against the Broncos is 18 by Gonzaga in 1999. The Zags' 29 attempts is the eighth-most for a Santa Clara opponent.

  • Santa Clara's 84 points was the most scored by the Broncos against Gonzaga since its 86-80 win in 1984-85.

  • Steve Ross' 22 points was one point short of his career-high and marked the second-straight game he surpassed the 20-point barrier. He set his career-high of 23 against Saint Mary's last week.
