Nov. 13, 2000

SANTA CLARA, Calif - The Santa Clara men's basketball team completed its incoming class of freshman for the fall with the signing of 6-9 forward Jordan Legge from Mesa, Ariz. to a national letter of intent, announced Head Coach Dick Davey.

With the signing of Legge, Santa Clara has allocated all four of its available scholarships during the 2000-2001 signing period. The early signing period began on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and runs through this Wednesday. The spring letter of intent signing period for basketball is April 11 through May 15. Legge joins point guard Bakari Altheimer from Oakland, Calif., forward/center Scott Borchart from Newbury Park, Calif. and center/forward Linden Tibbets from Duncanville, Texas as Santa Clara's four signees this fall.

Legge is a 6-9 forward who attends Dobson High School in Mesa, Ariz. He averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior and was an honorable mention all-state selection. He was named first-team all-East Valley after leading his team to a 21-9 record as a junior. He also is a member of the Dobson swimming team and participated on the 4x50-meter relay squad that won the state title and earned All-America honors. He plays for Rick McConnell at Dobson High School.

"Jordan is a really skilled big player," said Davey. "He is very solid fundamentally and is a very intelligent player. He comes from a very successful program and he is a great team player. I expect Jordan will be able to contribute at a couple of different positions for us."
