"Based on the score it is apparent we are still trying to find ourselves. They beat us about every way we could be beaten. Their exection was outstanding. Their rebounding was good. Their decision-making on shots was good. They made shots. They played much better defensively. When you get down early, you are going to get yourself in a lot of trouble. We sure did that today.

"Jamie (Holmes) got in a little bit of foul trouble, which affected his ability to play on the block. He was put in situations defensively where he was reaching and grabbing. Brian (Jones) usually finds a way during the course of the game to find a way to get out of it. He was unable to do that tonight. Pacific really took him out of everything he wanted to do. I think (McLemore & Davis switching on him) was a factor and the fact that Bob (Thomason) had a nice gameplan as to how he wanted to stop us and they executed.

"The guards sure looked very efficient tonight. They are athletic and they can take the ball to the basket. A couple of them could really shoot it. That is going to help them a lot this season, I would think. Their inside players are big and strong and do a great job, as well."
